Rates and terms are subject to change without notice – please confirm before mailing your deposit!

Dividends are paid from Shambhala CU earnings on loans made within your community.

Deposit Accounts

When you open a savings account at Shambhala Credit Union, you get more than just a safe place to invest your money and a market rate of return – you’re supporting the Shambhala community’s development too. When you hold deposits here, we are able to provide more loans to meditators, their families, local businesses, and Shambhala Centers.

Each individual depositor is insured up to $250,000 (and higher for IRA accounts) by NCUSIF, the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.  Administered by the NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration, the NCUSIF is backed by the “full faith and credit” of the U.S. Government.

King Ashoka was a prominent and legendary historical figure who lived in India during the 2nd Century BC.  It is said that he converted to Buddhism after seeing the terrible carnage of the Kalinga War, which he initiated.  In his 1920 book Outline of History HG Wells writes,  “Amidst the tens of thousands of names of monarchs that crowd the columns of history, their majesties and graciousnesses and serenities and royal highnesses and the like, the name of Ashoka shines, and shines, almost alone, a star.”
